Egypt
This page applies only to organisations whose country is Egypt. Kluvan works the same everywhere without it.
The Egypt pack is for an organisation that chose Egypt as its country. It adds Egyptian money, tax and payroll rules on top of the apps you use. Kluvan works without it; nothing else depends on it.
What the pack sets
- Currency: the Egyptian pound (EGP, ج.م), with two decimals.
- VAT: when you create your accounts in Set up Books, Books adds the tax codes Standard rated (14 %), Zero rated, Exempt and Out of scope. The tax number is labelled Tax registration number (9 digits).
- Tax return: a VAT return prepared by section, monthly or every three months, and a withholding tax register.
- Dates and time: the week starts on Saturday, dates are shown as 2026-10-14, and the time zone is Cairo.
- Phone numbers: Egyptian mobiles (01…, 11 digits) are recognised and turned into +20 numbers for WhatsApp links.
- Language: Arabic is the default interface language; documents can be in Arabic or English.
- HR defaults: Friday as the weekend, 21 days of annual leave, 90 days of maternity leave, 30 days of Hajj leave, plus sick and unpaid leave. A leaver's personal data can be removed after five years.
- Payroll: salary income tax, social insurance, the martyrs' fund, end-of-service compensation, a bank file and a statutory register.
Every default is yours to change on the HR settings page and in Books.
