Subscriptions
Subscriptions is for businesses whose customers pay on a cycle: gyms, tuition and nurseries, water delivery, cleaning contracts, coworking, software resellers. You set up plans, add subscribers (or let customers sign up from a link), and the invoices go out by themselves each cycle.
When Books is switched on, each cycle's bill is a Books tax invoice and each payment a Books receipt; without Books the bill is charged to the customer's account and appears in Collections. Unpaid invoices follow a reminder schedule, and the subscriptions report shows monthly and yearly revenue and churn.
