Refill locations and see stock value

Min / max refills keep each location stocked from the place that feeds it, for example the branch's main location from the back store. The Warehouses page also shows what every location holds in money.

Before you start

  • Each location needs a source: Replenished from in Settings → Warehouses (see Set up stock locations).
  • You need the right Inventory, receiving, stock-take.

Steps: set min and max

  1. Open Warehouses and select the location.
  2. For each product, type the Min, the Max and the Bin / shelf code.
  3. Select Save.

Steps: refill

  1. Open Warehouses → Replenish. Pick a Location, or All locations, and select Show.
  2. Read each line: Min, Max, what is Coming in, what is Needed, what the Source has, and To ask for.
  3. Select the button that names the source, for example Ask Back store for them. Kluvan makes a transfer request from the source location, ready to pick.

Steps: see stock value

  1. Open Warehouses.
  2. The locations table shows each location's items, units and Value at cost.
  3. Below it, On the way shows the value of the transfers in transit, and Total stock value adds everything up.

Good to know

  • A product at or under its min is brought up to its max (to its min when there is no max), but never more than the source holds.
  • What is already on its way in, including requests not yet sent, counts against the need, so nothing is asked for twice.
  • A location with no source buys from suppliers: its lines are marked buy and point to the smart reorder. See Reorder what runs low.
  • Stock is valued at each product's cost, the same figure Books uses. Lots keep their own cost on the lot pages, but the location value does not use lot costs.
  • Goods on the way are valued at the cost they left with.
