Create and publish a form
A form is a list of questions your team answers inside Kluvan. You build it as a draft, then publish it so people can fill it in.
Before you start
- Forms must be on your plan and switched on. See Pick your apps.
- You need the right Manage Forms.
Steps
- Open Forms and stay on the Forms tab.
- Under New · Forms, type a Title and an optional Description.
- Select Create record. The form opens as a draft.
- Under Actions, open Add field.
- Type a Field key, for example
meter_reading, and the Label people will see. - Choose the Field type: Text, Long text, Number, Date, Choice, Checkbox or Email.
- Tick Required if the field must be answered.
- For a Choice field, type the options in Choices (one per line).
- Select Add field. Repeat for each question.
- Open Publish and select it. The form shows Published and its version number.

Good to know
- A form holds up to 20 fields. A field key starts with a letter and uses only letters, numbers and underscores; each key is used once.
- A choice field needs between 2 and 20 options.
- To change a published form, add or remove fields and select Publish again. Each publish is a new version, up to 25 per form. Submissions already made keep the version and answers they had.
- Close submissions stops new submissions to a published form.
- There are no file, photo, signature or location fields, and forms cannot be filled in by the public: only signed-in members of your organisation fill them in.
- With several branches, each branch keeps its own forms. Choose the Branch at the top.
- Next: fill in a form and review submissions.
