Send a payment link

Early access

This feature is in early access: it is built and tested, but not yet switched on for every organisation or not yet tried with the outside provider. Ask us on WhatsApp if you would like to try it.

A payment link lets a customer pay by card or wallet on Paymob's page. When Paymob confirms the payment, Kluvan books it as one Books receipt against the invoices the link is about, and the case updates by itself. This is early access: it needs your organisation's own Paymob account and has been tested against Paymob's test environment only.

Before you start

  • Your organisation needs its own Paymob account (Egypt or the UAE). The owner connects it in Settings → Payments, on the Paymob card (see Settings → Payments).
  • You need Collections: work cases (notes, promises, reminders, disputes) and Make payment links.

Steps

From a collection case

  1. Open the customer's case.
  2. Under Open invoices, tick the invoices the link is for, or leave them unticked for the oldest first.
  3. Open Payment link.
  4. Type the amount in Amount (less is fine): the whole balance, or a part.
  5. Select Make the link. The link appears in a box.
  6. Copy it and send it to the customer, for example in your WhatsApp reminder or an e-mail.

From the credit book

  1. Open Collections → Credit book and select the customer.
  2. Under Pay by card or wallet (Paymob), type the Amount and select Make a pay link.
  3. Copy the link. Select Cancel the link on an open link you no longer want; a paid link shows when it was paid.

Good to know

  • Part payments. A link may be for less than the balance, but not less than Smallest part payment by link in Collections settings.
  • Booked once. A payment is booked only after Paymob's signed confirmation, and only once, even if Paymob sends it twice. A forged or unknown callback books nothing.
  • When Books refuses (a closed period, a currency it cannot take), the money is not lost: the payment waits in failed and unmatched payments for someone to handle.
  • Statements and reminders. When Paymob is connected, the customer's Collections statement shows a Pay button and reminders carry a payment link; see share a Collections statement.
  • Other providers. Collections links use Paymob only. Without a Paymob connection the Payment link section does not show.
