Change prices for many products

When a supplier raises prices or you reorganise your list, change many products at once instead of opening each one.

Before you start

  • You need the right Edit products.

Steps: change prices or categories

  1. Open Inventory → Product list. Use Search, Category and Filters to narrow the list, then select Apply.
  2. Tick the products you want to change.
  3. Under With the selected:, select Bulk edit & price change. The page says how many products are selected.
  4. In Price change, choose Percent % or Fixed amount and type the Value. A negative value lowers prices.
  5. In Round to, pick a rounding step, or No rounding.
  6. Select Show the preview to see each product's old and new price.
  7. To move the products as well, pick a category in Move to category. To show or hide them, use Visible.
  8. Tick Apply to variants too if the products have variants.
  9. Select Apply.

Steps: tidy your categories

  1. Open Inventory → Categories.
  2. Type a name in New category and select Add.
  3. On the category's line, select Rename / Merge into.
  4. To rename it, type the new name and select Rename.
  5. To join it with another category, choose the target in Merge into and select Merge into again to confirm. Its products move to the target category.

Steps: fill wholesale prices

  1. Switch on Wholesale price level in Settings → Features.
  2. Open Inventory → Price levels. Each product shows its Retail price and its Wholesale price.
  3. Type wholesale prices one by one, or use Fill wholesale by % of retail: type the Percent %, choose Round to, and select Apply.
  4. Select Save.

Good to know

  • If a change would make prices 0 (−100 % or lower), the page asks you to confirm by ticking a box first.
  • The Wholesale clients list on the Price levels page shows the customers marked as wholesale. On a Books invoice, such a customer gets the wholesale price by default; a product without a wholesale price falls back to retail.
  • To keep a margin when a supplier's cost rises, see Act on cost rises and slow stock.
