Print product labels

Labels put each product's barcode, name and price on the shelf or on the product, so it can be scanned at receiving, counting and picking.

Before you start

  • You need the right Edit products.
  • You need a printer: an office printer with label sheets, or a label printer set up on your computer.

Steps: give barcodes to products without one

  1. Open Inventory → Product list. If some products have no barcode, the list shows how many, for example 12 without a barcode.
  2. Select Generate and confirm. Each of those products gets an in-store barcode starting with 2.
  3. Kluvan then offers the labels page showing only the products that were given a barcode a moment ago.

Steps: print labels

  1. Open Inventory → Labels.
  2. Use Search to find the products you want.
  3. Type how many labels you need for each product in Count.
  4. Choose the label Size, or Custom to type your own.
  5. Select Print the labels. Your browser's print window opens; pick your printer, or save as PDF.

Good to know

  • A product picked for labels without a barcode gets one at once (Make a barcode).
  • In-store barcodes start with 2, the range kept for a business's own codes, so they can never clash with a maker's barcode or a weighed-item label.
  • If you later scan the maker's barcode onto a product, labels you printed with the in-store code stop scanning; print new ones.
  • Barcodes are also used by stock-takes, receiving and transfer picking.
