Create your website from a template
Sites gives your organisation one website. You start from a template that already has pages and sample words, then change every word before anyone sees it. Nothing is public until you publish.
Before you start
- Sites comes with Kluvan One. An owner or a manager switches it on in Settings → Apps. See Pick your apps.
- You need the right Edit the website and read its form submissions to create the draft. To publish it you also need Publish the website and manage its domains. Owners and managers have both. See Roles and rights.
Steps
- Open Sites. The Website page opens with Create your website.
- Under Template, pick a starting point:
- Service business: a home page with your services and testimonials, an about page and a contact page with a form.
- The catalogue template: your products from the catalogue, a products page with a quote form, about and contact.
- Consultant: your approach and services, a booking button and a quote request.
- One landing page: one page for an offer or a campaign, with a form.
- Under Languages, tick every language the site should have. Each language gets its own pages.
- Select Create the site. The message The site is ready to edit. appears with the list of pages.
- If the page shows Your organisation has no public address yet., select Choose one. A manager types the Address (lowercase letters, digits and dashes) under Public address and selects Save.
- Open each page from the Pages list and replace the sample words. See Edit pages and blocks.
- Select Preview to see the site as visitors will. The preview's forms send nothing.

Good to know
- One site per organisation. The site lives on your organisation's public address, the same one your other public pages use (booking page, statements). Changing the address changes every one of those links.
- Start again. In Site settings, Start again replaces the draft with a new template. The published site stays as it is until you publish again. Tick I want to replace the draft and select Replace the draft.
- Sizes. A site has at most 20 pages and 30 blocks on a page. If it grows too large, the page asks you to shorten texts or remove blocks.
- Pictures. Blocks use your catalogue's product pictures and your logo. You cannot upload a picture into a block.
- Today. The Today page reminds publishers when the site is not published yet, and when changes have waited more than a day.
- Next: publish your site and set its languages and look.
