Build a landing page with a form

A landing page is one page for one offer or campaign, outside your site's menu. Its form collects the visitor's name, contact and message; each message becomes a lead in CRM and a conversation in the Inbox, with the campaign it came from.

Before you start

  • You need the right Edit the website and read its form submissions.
  • For leads and conversations, CRM and the Inbox must be switched on. Without them the messages are still kept in Sites, under Form submissions.

Steps

  1. Open Sites. Under Pages, type the Page title, choose Landing page under Kind and select Add page. You can also start from New → Landing page.
  2. Open the new page. Fill in a Banner with your offer and set its Link to #form, so the button jumps to the form.
  3. Under Add a block, pick Form and select Add.
  4. In the form block, choose the Form kind: Contact form, or Request a quote to ask what the visitor needs.
  5. Type the form's Title, Short text and Button text.
  6. Type a Thank-you message for this form, or leave it empty to use the site's own.
  7. Select Save, then Preview to try the page. The preview says the form was not sent.
  8. Publish the site, then share the page's address in your ads or messages. Add campaign tags such as ?utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=autumn to the address so you can tell where each message came from.

What happens when a visitor sends the form

  • The visitor types a name and a message, and an e-mail address or a phone number. They see the thank-you page.
  • Kluvan finds the customer by phone or e-mail, or creates one, then adds one lead to the CRM pipeline and one conversation in the Inbox. When the visitor gave an e-mail address, your reply from the Inbox goes by e-mail.
  • A double click or a resend within 30 minutes makes no second lead.
  • The campaign tags from the visitor's address and the site they came from are kept with the message.

Good to know

  • Consent. By default the visitor must tick the consent box before sending. Change its wording, or switch the rule off, in Site settings. Make the text match your privacy notice and the rules where you work.
  • News and offers. The form also offers Send me news and offers by e-mail. When the visitor ticks it, the customer's e-mail consent is recorded in CRM. See Record consent.
  • Spam. A hidden trap field drops most robots, and a visitor address can send 10 forms an hour (200 an hour for the whole site).
  • Follow up the messages: Follow up form submissions and Manage deals in the pipeline.
