Approve or refuse a firm's access request
An accounting firm can ask for access from its partner portal, using the address you sign in to Kluvan with. The firm sees nothing of your organisation until you approve, and you decide what it may see when you do.
Before you start
- Only the organisation's owner can approve or refuse.
- You are told about a request on Today ("… asks for access to your books"), and by e-mail or WhatsApp if your notification preferences say so.
Steps
- Open Settings → Accountant & partners, or select the request on Today.
- Find the card … asks for access at the top of the page. It shows who asked, when, and the firm's note if it wrote one.
- Check that you know the firm. If you do not, select Refuse and stop here.
- Under What the firm may see and do, set the level of each area: No access, Read only or Full (HR also offers Payroll, read only).
- If you have several branches, tick the branches the firm may work in, or leave them all unticked for every branch.
- Optional: pick a date in Access ends on.
- Select Approve with this access. The firm moves to the list of firms with access, and can open your organisation at once.

Good to know
- A refused request moves to Earlier access with the state Refused. The firm can ask again later; you can also invite it yourself (see give your accountant access).
- The firm learns nothing from its request. Whether the address belongs to an owner or not, the firm's page only says the request was sent, so nobody can test addresses.
- One firm at a time. If another firm still has access, revoke it first, then approve.
- Approving, refusing and every later change are listed in What the firm's people did on the same page.
- Related: change, revoke or review a firm's access.
