Set up the portal's name, colour and invitation

Portal settings decide how the portal looks to your customers and suppliers, what every invitation says, and which sections a company gets when you first give it access.

Before you start

  • The Portal app is switched on (Customer Portal in Settings → Apps).
  • You need the Customer access right.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Portal settings (or the settings link of the Portal app).
  2. Under Look, type The portal's name (empty = your organisation's name).
  3. In Top bar colour, type a dark colour as #RRGGBB, for example #1f3a5f. Leave it empty for the standard colour.
  4. Under The invitation, type A few words added to every invitation (optional), for example who to call with questions.
  5. Under Sections a new company starts with, tick the sections for a Customer and for a Supplier.
  6. Select Save.

Good to know

  • The colour is checked. It must be dark enough for the white text on it to stay readable; a light colour is refused with a message.
  • No logo. The portal shows your portal name in the top bar, not a picture.
  • Never put passwords or bank details in the invitation note: it goes out in every invitation e-mail.
  • Default sections are used only when you give a company access. Changing them does not change companies that already have access; change those on each company's page.
  • Languages. The portal comes in the languages of Kluvan, Arabic and Urdu right to left. Each person picks theirs from the menu at the top or in My profile; otherwise the browser's language is used.
  • The address to share is shown under The portal's address at the bottom of the page.

How the portal is secured

  • Portal sign-in is separate from your team's: a portal session never opens a staff page, the developer API or the assistant connection.
  • Every page and action checks the person's company, so a person sees only their own company's records.
  • Every action is kept in the audit log with the person's name and company, and every file opened is recorded.
  • Sign-in codes and invitations are limited in number and time, and repeated tries are slowed down.
  • Removing a person or switching a company's access off ends their sessions at once.
