See headcount and turnover
HR → HR reports shows how your team changed over the year: headcount at the start and end of each month, joiners, leavers and turnover. It is worked out from the joining and leaving dates on the employee files.
Before you start
- You need See HR files. The payroll cost table also needs Salaries and payroll and the Payroll app.
- Check that every file has a Joined date, and a Leaving date for people who left. See Add people and fill in their employee files.
Steps
- Open HR → HR reports.
- Read Headcount and turnover for this year. Each month shows At the start, Joined, Left, At the end and Turnover, and the last row shows the whole year.
- To see an earlier year, select the previous year's button above the table.
- To keep the figures, select Excel or CSV.
- Scroll down to Headcount for the current numbers, and to Payroll cost by branch and month if you have the payroll right.

Good to know
- Turnover = people who left ÷ the average headcount × 100. The average headcount is (start + end) ÷ 2.
- A person counts as employed from their joining day to their leaving day.
- The headcount and turnover figures contain no pay data. Users without Salaries and payroll never see the payroll cost table.
- Payroll cost by branch and month shows people, gross pay, overtime and net pay per branch and month from finalised payroll runs. See Run payroll for a period.
- In a UAE organisation the page also shows an Emiratisation view: skilled roles, UAE nationals in them and the target that applies. It is an indication only; MOHRE's portal is the record. See UAE payroll.
- Org list at the bottom downloads the list of people with job, department and branch, without pay or personal contacts.
- The year's time off and public holidays are on HR → Leave → Year view.
