Build the org chart and post notices
The organisation chart shows who reports to whom. Notices let you tell everyone, one branch or one role something, and see who has read it.
Before you start
- You need Manage HR (files, documents, leave).
- Add your people first. See Add people and fill in their employee files.
Build the org chart
- Open HR → Organisation.
- Under Add a department or position, choose the Kind: Department or Position.
- Type the Name, pick where it sits (Within) and, if you like, its Head.
- Select Add. Repeat for each department and position.
- Open each person's file and set Reports to and Position in the Job section, then select Save.
- Back on HR → Organisation, check the Organisation chart. Select Download the chart (SVG) to keep a copy.

Post a notice
- Open HR → Notices.
- Type a Title and the Text.
- In To, choose Everyone, one branch or one role.
- Set Shown until if the notice should disappear on a date, and tick Pin at the top for an important one.
- Select Post the notice.

Good to know
- The chart is drawn from the managers set on each file. If two people are set as each other's manager, the loop is cut so the chart still draws.
- To retire a department or position, edit it and tick No longer used. Deleting it leaves the text on the files that name it.
- Each person sees the notices meant for them on their own HR page, unread ones first, and marks them as read. Opened by on the notices page shows how many have read each one and when.
- Deleting a notice removes it for everyone.
- People without a sign-in read notices through their personal link. See Give each person their own HR page.
