Change how documents look

Your quotes, orders, delivery notes, invoices and credit notes share one look, used when they are printed and on the customer's link. You set it once in the Books setup.

Before you start

  • You need to be the owner, or a manager with Set up Books and lock periods.
  • To print your logo, upload it on the Online settings page first.

Steps

  1. Open Books → Set up Books, step Business settings.
  2. Type the Payment instructions printed on documents, for example your bank name and IBAN.
  3. Type a Document footer if you want one.
  4. Under Document appearance, type a Document header, such as your trade name and address lines.
  5. Choose a Template: Classic, Panel or Compact.
  6. Pick an Accent colour.
  7. Tick Use business logo to print your logo.
  8. Select Save and continue.
  9. To check, open an issued invoice and select Print or save as PDF.

Good to know

  • Documents are printed by your browser on A4, in Arabic and English. Use "Save as PDF" in the print window to get a file. There is no PDF made on our server.
  • Drafts and newly issued documents use the current settings. An issued document keeps the look it was issued with, even if you change the settings or remove the logo later.
  • Copies and conversions take the current settings when they are next saved.
  • The logo must be a PNG, JPEG or WebP image of up to 64 KB. If it is too large, Books asks you to replace it with a smaller one or turn the logo off.
  • The accent colour is used for borders and lines; text stays dark so it is easy to read.
  • The seller's tax number and address come from the Tax identity step of the setup. See Set up Books.
  • Books does not add a government QR code, and some statutory tax-invoice fields are not printed yet. E-invoices and country rules: Egypt, UAE.
  • How to share documents: Send an invoice or quote.
