Switch on Quality and set it up

Quality stays hidden until a manager switches it on. Then you decide who inspects, who manages templates and non-conformances, and who verifies corrective actions, and you set the rules new non-conformances follow.

Before you start

  • You must be the owner or a manager.
  • Quality is sold on its own and comes with Service Business, Trade Business and Kluvan One. See Plans and bundles.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Apps, find Quality and choose Switch on. See Pick your apps.
  2. Open Team → Users, pick a person and open Rights. Under Quality, tick what they need:
    • Fill in quality inspections: inspectors, including field and restricted seats;
    • Manage templates, non-conformances and actions: quality managers;
    • Verify and close corrective actions (not one's own): the people who check the work.
  3. Select Save.
  4. Open Quality → Quality settings.
  5. Under Days to resolve a non-conformance, set the days for Minor, Major and Critical: 30, 14 and 3 by default.
  6. Pick the Default owner of new non-conformances, or keep The default owner (the organisation's owner).
  7. Keep A failed inspection opens a non-conformance at once ticked, or untick it to raise them by hand.
  8. Tick Show new supplier non-conformances in the supplier portal if suppliers should see them by default.
  9. Select Save.

Good to know

  • Managers have every Quality right. Only a manager changes these settings.
  • Without manage or verify, a person sees only their own inspections, the non-conformances they own or opened, and the actions they own or must verify.
  • The sidebar has Overview, Inspections, Non-conformances, Corrective actions, then Set-up → Inspection templates and Reports → Supplier quality and Quality reports.
  • Start in three steps: the overview shows them until your first template and inspection: write a template, inspect a record, fix what failed.
  • Today lists your drafts to finish, your actions (late first), actions waiting for you to verify, and for managers the non-conformances to plan and those overdue.
  • Next: Build an inspection template.
  • More on rights: Roles and rights.
