Move applicants from the old hiring page

Before Recruitment, HR had a simple hiring page with a public jobs page. If you used it, move its applicants into Recruitment so all your hiring is in one place.

Before you start

  • You need Recruitment settings, retention and erasure, and your plan must include HR.
  • Recruitment must be switched on in Settings → Apps.

Steps

  1. Open Recruitment → Recruitment settings.
  2. Find the card Applicants from the old hiring page.
  3. Select Move them here. The page tells you how many applicants moved.
  4. Open Recruitment → Openings and select Drafts. You find one draft opening per role of the old page.
  5. Open each draft, check its details, and select Publish if you still hire for it, or Close the opening.

What moves

  • One draft opening per role. If an opening with the same title already exists, the applicants join it. Applicants without a role go to an opening named General application.
  • Each applicant at the same step: Interview and Offer keep their stage, Rejected becomes Not selected, new applications stay at Applied. Their notes come along.
  • Their CV moves once. The applicant and the CV are then removed from HR's hiring page, so nothing is kept twice.
  • The applicants show Came from: Old hiring page on their page.

Good to know

  • Hired applicants stay in HR. They are already people on your staff list.
  • The old page still works until it is retired, but new hiring belongs in Recruitment. To stop taking applications there, untick the public page in HR → HR settings → Hiring: the public page. See Hire through your public jobs page.
  • Share the new address. Replace the old jobs page link in your advertising with your careers page. See Take applications on your careers page.
  • After the move, retention follows Recruitment's settings. See Keep and erase candidates' data.
