Switch on Resellers and choose its settings
Before you add resellers, switch the app on, decide who manages resellers and who handles commission, and choose two settings: how long a reseller has to accept a lead, and whether a commission statement makes a draft bill in Books.
Before you start
- Resellers comes with the Trade app: Trade on its own, the Trade Business bundle or Kluvan One. See plans and bundles.
- It needs your customer list. It works best with the Portal (the resellers' own view), Books and the CRM switched on.
- You need to be the owner or a manager.
Steps
- Open Settings → Apps (see pick your apps).
- Find Resellers and choose Switch on. Resellers appears in the menu, with Overview, Orders, Lead distribution and Tiers.
- Give the rights to the people who need them (see roles and rights):
- Resellers: manage resellers, orders and leads for the channel manager;
- Resellers: commission statements for finance.
- Open Settings → Reseller settings.
- Under Lead distribution, type Hours a reseller has to accept a lead.
- Tick Offer new leads to resellers by themselves if new CRM leads should be offered without anyone pressing a button.
- Under Commission statements, tick Make a Books draft bill when a statement is issued if your accountant pays commission through Books.
- Select Save.

Good to know
- Off until switched on. Switching the app off hides its pages; nothing is deleted.
- Either right opens the list and a reseller's page. People with only the commission right do not see the app in the menu; they reach it from Today or a link.
- Offering by itself runs every 10 minutes and uses the territory of the customer's Trade account. Leads whose customer has no territory wait for you on Lead distribution.
- A draft bill is never a payment. It goes to the reseller's supplier record for your accountant to review; paying it stays your decision.
- Today lists orders waiting (over the credit limit first), leads no reseller took, and last month's statements to issue.
- Next: create reseller tiers.
