Offer CRM leads to resellers
When a lead comes in from an area a reseller covers, offer it to that reseller. Rules say which resellers cover which territory and in what order. The first one has a few hours to accept; if it declines or does not answer, the next one gets the lead, and if nobody takes it, it comes back to you.
Before you start
- The CRM app must be switched on. Leads are CRM deals in the Lead stage (see manage deals in the pipeline).
- You need the Resellers: manage resellers, orders and leads right, and at least one reseller.
- Resellers answer in their portal view, so their people need Portal access.
Steps
Make the rules
- Open Resellers → Lead distribution and select Add a rule.
- In Territory, type a city or a region, or * for any other territory.
- Optional: in Hours to accept (empty = the settings'), type the hours for this rule.
- Choose Reseller 1, then Reseller 2 and so on, in the order they should be offered the lead (up to five).
- Optional: give the rule a Name, and select Save.
Offer leads
- Under Leads not offered yet, find the lead. Type its Territory and select Offer.
- To check every waiting lead at once, select Check now. With Offer new leads to resellers by themselves ticked in Settings → Reseller settings, this happens every 10 minutes.
- Follow each lead under Offered leads: Waiting for its answer (with the deadline), Accepted, or Back with you.
- For a lead Back with you, type a territory and select Offer again, or select Handled once you have dealt with it yourself. Pipeline opens the deal in the CRM.

Good to know
- Territory. Offering by itself takes the territory from the customer's Trade account. CRM deals have no territory of their own, so other leads wait until you type one.
- Every step is noted on the deal in the CRM: offered to whom, accepted, or back with you.
- An accepted lead's customer becomes the reseller's sub-customer, so its later sales count for the reseller's commission.
- Leads back with you appear on Today.
- Only a deal in the Lead stage can be offered. A lead already offered cannot be offered again until it is back with you.
- A territory can have one rule. The * rule catches every territory without its own rule.
